Casabourse et choisir sa SGB : guide pratique pas à pas

Casabourse واختيار SGB: دليل عملي خطوة بخطوة

Casabourse and choosing your SGB: practical step-by-step guide

Prerequisites

Have completed the securities account opening lesson or have an account in progress. This lesson completes the account checklist with daily site usage and intermediary choice.

Casabourse tour — 5 stops

# Where to click What you should get from it
1 Company directory List of listed stocks; search by name or sector
2 BCP page (example) Price, daily volume, market cap, P/E, dividend — check today’s page
3 Chart / history tab on the page Price and volume over 1 year — spot liquidity and volatility
4 Comparator Align 2 to 4 stocks: price, volume, yield, P/E — without concluding “which to buy”
5 Documents / press releases (if available on the page) Access to company publications — supplement with AMMC site for official annual financial reports (RFA)

BCP example (June 2026, Casabourse): price ~241 MAD, volume ~8,130 shares/day, market cap ~49 bn MAD. Recalculate before any order.

Read a fact sheet in 60 seconds

  1. Price — last session price or close.
  2. Volume — shares traded; compare to your order size (rule: stay modest vs daily volume).
  3. Market cap — company size on the exchange.
  4. P/E / dividend — market indicators; cross-check with annual financial report (RFA) (lesson A-04 / #9059).
  5. Sector — so you do not concentrate an entire portfolio on one macro driver.

Compare a liquid stock (e.g. Cosumar, ~78,743 shares/day) and a thinly traded one (e.g. Disway, ~59 shares/day) in the comparator: same screen, very different execution reality.

Choosing your SGB — decision grid

Brokerage firms (SGB) are authorised by the AMMC. Your bank may offer a securities account; specialised SGBs also exist. Compare on objective criteria:

Criterion Questions to ask before signing Why it matters
Brokerage fees % per order? Fixed minimum per order? On a small order, the minimum can exceed 1% (lesson #9003)
TPCVM & BVC taxes Shown in summary before confirmation? Mandatory cost on every transaction
Custody fees Annual? Included? Impact on long holding
Platform Real-time order book? Charts? Simulate without confirming? Essential for limit orders and spread
Minimum order Minimum amount or share count? Can block a modest first basket
Customer service Branch, phone, account activation delay? Useful for KYC blocks or rejected orders
Tax statements Annual statement of operations for income tax filing? Easier capital gains declaration (lesson #9003)

List of authorised intermediaries: check the AMMC website (intermediaries / securities market section). Casabourse does not replace the SGB contract — always compare the written fee schedule.

Bank vs online SGB — typical profiles

Investor profile Priority Line of thought (no name imposed)
Beginner, 1 order / month Low fees + clear platform Compare brokerage minimum on a 2,000–5,000 MAD order
Existing bank customer Simplicity of bank transfer Request written fee grid — compare to a specialised SGB
Active trader (TA) Order book + charts Test demo or simulate an order before funding

Practical exercise on the BVC (30 minutes)

  1. Open the comparator with BCP and Disway. Note price, volume, P/E, dividend.
  2. On paper: simulate buying 10 BCP shares and 1 Disway share — gross amount + estimate fees (~0.5–1%).
  3. List 3 questions you will ask your SGB (fee minimum, custody, tax statement).
  4. If account is open: reproduce the simulation on the SGB platform without confirming.

Key takeaways

  • Casabourse = read and compare; SGB = execute orders.
  • Volume and spread on today’s page — never memorised figures.
  • Compare at least two intermediaries on the written fee grid before opening.
  • Logical next steps: fees & tax then first transaction.

Self-check

  1. What 5 elements should you read first on a Casabourse fact sheet?
  2. Why compare Cosumar and Disway in the comparator?
  3. What questions should you ask an SGB about fees?
  4. Where do you verify that an intermediary is authorised?
  5. What is the difference between Casabourse and your SGB platform?
